Prayer Letter

Dear Prayer Team,

Greetings from Taiwan where autumn has arrived.  The temps have fallen from the mid to upper nineties to the upper eighties, welcome to autumn.

In early September, we asked you to pray for our baptismal service this Sunday the 30th.  At that time, we had one man who wanted to be baptized.  Now we have four who will be baptized.  Pray for Mr. Huang and another man named Mr. Huang, sorry they don’t have English names.  The other two who will be baptized are two young people who accepted the Lord this past summer youth camp that you prayed for in July.  The names of these two people are Emily and Al.  Also, pray for no rain, we do the baptismal service in front of the church where our community can see.

We do have a special prayer request.  We have an opening for another single or couple who would like to come to Taiwan for two weeks in January to help with our Winter English camp.  The dates are Jan.18th to Feb. 2nd.  We also need someone who would help to write the elementary school curriculum.  Wayne and Bev Worthley wrote very good curriculum that the school really liked and that can be built on for this upcoming winter camp.  Pray about this and then let us know.  You would have to raise money for your travel, however, your expenses are cared for on island accept what you decide to buy such as gifts for family and friends.  Housing and meals are taken care of by host families and the church.

We thank you for praying for our fall English class.  We have 15 registered as of Thursday and the class begins Tuesday October second.  Our focus for this class will be pronunciation and simple Bible stories.  Many of the 15 students are new, so it helps us to build more relationships in the hope they will meet Jesus.

We continue to request prayer for a new or larger place for our church.  Because of our growth, we are running out of space.  We have looked at some pieces of land near the church but they are not up for sale yet.  We are trusting the Lord for a miracle.

We have asked you to pray for our ministry with the elementary school.  The Lord has answered that prayer by the school asking us to help with the story time.  Monday mornings we will do stories with fifth and sixth grade.

We thankful for your financial and prayer support that keeps us in Taiwan.  We also pray for our churches in the Ohio Conference, today we prayed for Ava and tomorrow we will pray for Caldwell If your church has a special prayer request, let us know and we will pray for you and your church.

   Blessings,

    Tim and Lily
